- Attend a Mandatory Pre-Certification Briefing: Gain access to the online application by attending a required NCMSDC Pre-Certification Briefing. Register here.
- Review Certification Criteria: Ensure your business meets the necessary qualifications by reviewing the certification criteria below.
- Pay Certification Application Fee: After you complete the mandatory pre-certification briefing you will receive a code to pay the application fee and begin the online application process. Pay Certification Application Deposit Here.
- Complete the Online Application: Fill out the application form online.
- Gather and Upload Required Documentation: Collect and upload all necessary documents as listed below.
- Submit Balance of Application Fee: Pay the application fee online using a credit card.
- Site Visit Scheduling: Once all documentation is completed, uploaded, and validated by the NCMSDC MBE Services staff, a site visit will be scheduled.
- Board Review: The application will be presented to the NCMSDC Board of Directors for recommendation. The Board reviews and ratifies the recommendation from the Certification Committee and MBE Services staff.
- Notification: Applicants are notified of the Board’s decision.
- Your business is a for-profit enterprise.
- Your business is physically located in the United States or its trust territories.
- Your business is at least 51% ethnic minority owned. Ethnic minority owned is defined as any business owner having owner(s) belonging to following minority groups: African-American, Hispanic-American, Native American, Asian and Pacific Islander American (Asian-Indian included).
- The minority/ethnic owner(s) of the business are U.S. citizens.
- The minority/ethnic owner(s) of the business must be active in the management and daily business operations.
